Jetpack 6 on Jetson Orin NX: Flash to SSD successful but Jetson does not boot up

Using the Seeed Studio j401 reComputer carrier board.
Following this link to flash JP6.0

When following the steps to flash and boot the jetson with the Transcend 110S 256GB M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe Gen3 x4 (no longer sold at KSP) mounted on the carrier board, the process is successful and the Jetson boots up and can be configured with Ubuntu.
However, when mounting the Verbatim Vi3000 256GB SSD PCIe M.2 NVMe, the flash process seemingly succeeds, but the Jetson fails to boot afterward with the repeated error shown in the log:

mount: /mnt/: Can’t find PARTUUID-{…}

(I tried to reboot the Jetson to get the full boot failure in the log, but now after the initial boot screen, it gets stuck on a black screen with no response and no input.)

Could this issue be something related to the formatting of the Verbatim SSD card? Are there only certain NVMe PCIe Gen3 SSDs that are compatible, and if so, what are the specific requirements?

Note, I’ve tried to attach the full log of the flash process, but the NVIDIA system gets stuck on the “Processing upload” indefinitely even for a small file… how do I upload a file attachment successfully?

Just a reminder that the flash command you are using from that link is for Jeptack5 but not 6.

Jetpack6 command has parameters changed.

@WayneWWW I am using the tab specific for JP6.0, as shows here.

With this command:
sudo ./tools/kernel_flash/l4t_initrd_flash.sh --flash-only --massflash 1 --network usb0 --showlogs

Is this one outdated? Which command should I use instead if following the rest of the steps from that link?

Let me clarify: As the link I posted has a tab for Jetpack 6, and the download/preparation steps for the flash command are much simpler than in the QuickStart link you shared, if you are saying the flash command found in the section in my link is outdated, can I combine the process and use the flash command from your link with the files as downloaded in the JP 6.0 tab I’ve been using?

As your board is a custom board, what I can help here is also limited.
You should report a custom board issue to the vendor, but not NV moderator directly.

From what I saw from your website is the vendor just gave you an image, which I don’t know what it is. And they directly asked you to use that image to flash.

You could share the serial console log here with below method.

But the result could be highly related to the method and the image from their website.

And just to clarify. The method they are sharing is basically same as what our Quickstart guide is doing. They just put it as “mfi_xxxx.tar.gz” to you.

I will utilize the Quickstart guide procedure as supported by NVIDIA and see if that resolves my issue.

I don’t think it would help now because your vendor shared you an image. That image probably has the customization things for their board.

Without that image, it may hit other problem.

You could try to dump the log based on their image first.
