Jetson NX devkit Baseline Power

How much power is the Xavier NX in the Nvidia devkit expected to consume for a baseline when idle, but not yet in low-power mode?

For instance, I have ethernet connected, but no USB, and unplugged the WiFi and no display connected. I can always measure about between 2.3 and 2.5 watts.

Is this normal? Is there any way to reduce the baseline power consumption? I’m asking because 2.5W seems like a bunch of power to not be utilizing.

Using Jetpack 4.5.1. Measured using tegrastats.

It is in normal range.

If we are building our own NX carrier board and our own DTB, is there any way to reduce the baseline power consumption? 2.x watts is a lot.

Or, is the baseline power of the TX2NX or Nano a lesser amount?

What is your power mode now?

Could you also share your tegrastats and we can see if there is something to disable.

And what will be your usecase? Or you just want to have lower power in idle case?

I think we’re good. We just wanted to know what was expected for the baseline power. I think we’re good now.

Hi,

Out team has tried the measurement locally.

The baseline is around 2.3W as your result.

BTW, this is jetson AGX Xavier forum but not NX forum. I have moved your topic to correct location.
