Jetson Orin Nano Dev Kit stop working

First of all, I am totally new to this. I just acquired my first Jetson nano to start learning.
I followed the initial setup and I was able to get to Jetpack 6.1 36.3.0.

It was when everything started, the system kept asking to reboot for the new install jetpack 6.2 but never was able to update to the latest version. After giving up on getting to 6.2 I decided to try using and NVMe SSD, after flashing the system never boot back again even going back to the SD card.

I already reflash the SD card multiple times with Jetson 6 and 5, but no way to make the Jetson to boot again. I was able to use PuTTY to get the logs.

Don’t know if makes any difference but as soon I plug the power the fan turn on and after just few seconds it turns off and stay that way. Also, my kit only has a DVI port for display.

Thanks for any help I can get here.

Hi,

If you want to install with NVMe, please get a native ubuntu 20.04/22.04 (like dual boot) to install sdk manager and flash your device.

Please refer below link to get more info:

Thanks

Hi David

That doesn’t matter for me right now. The most important thing is to be able to make ir boot again.

I want to use the SD card for now. With the logs I provided what should I do to be able to boot again?

Thanks

Hi f.eduardo,

Based on your log, it shows that your firmware broken.
You need to flash the bootloader and rootfs.

Also I noticed that the board with the DVI port is actually a custom carrier board, not a development kit.
This means our official BSP is not compatible with it.
You’ll need to contact the vendor directly to obtain their customized BSP for this specific board.

Thanks

Hi David,

This is clear not the case here. I bought mine from Arrow following the links from Nvidia.

https://www.arrow.com/en/products/945-13766-0000-000/nvidia

Also, I am uploading pictures of my board. So clearly this is not the problem that is happening with me.

Are you able to help me on how to restore this to factory? And I already reflash the SD card more time I can image with all versions of Jetpack, nothing works.

Thanks

Can someone please help me with my issue? Thanks

Hi,

To full flash your device, you need a sdk manager to flash it.
Some steps we need you to prepare:

If you have a ubuntu as a host

Please install sdk manager directly and reflash the device with it.

If you have a windows as a host

  • The recommended way is to dual boot to install Ubuntu 20.04/22.04 and install sdk manager.
  • Other method is to follow the topics using VMware.

Thanks
