Jetson Orin NX module power 5V/20V

Hi

We are designing a carrier board for the Jetson Orin NX SOM. Is it necessary to provide options for both 5V(legacy module) and higher voltages to power the Orin NX SOM? We plan to supply 9V to VDD_IN to support MaxN mode (8V to 20V). Do we need to include an additional 5V regulator? Our concern is the board dimensions and the increase in the number of regulators.

Thanks

If you are using a custom carrier board for your own use only and plan to use the advanced modules only in your product then you could optimize the design as you need.

Can you please let us know what is meant by legacy modules mentioned that datasheet?

Some of the earlier Jetson Nano / Orin NX modules supported/accept VDD_IN of 5V only. The MODULE_ID pin is tied to low (Ground) on these modules. Does this answer your question?
