Jetson Xavier NX Dev Kit M.2 to PCIe (Root) Connection

I am trying to setup the Xavier NX Dev Kit (M.2, J11/NVme) as a device connected to a Standard PCIe connection. I am looking to use a R44BB (R44 M.2 NVMe Jumpers Cable) and a M.2 NVme to PCIe adapter ( (x4 PCI Express to M.2 PCIe SSD Adapter - Drive Adapters and Drive Converters). Will this work? Any guidelines to follow?

Hi, the PCIe x4 interface operates up to Gen4 speed and supports both Root Port and Endpoint operation. For Endpoint design, please refer to the product design guide in DLC. We have no suggestion to 3rd-party devices, please check with vendor for that.
