While the 470-series of driver software is “end of life” for old GeForce hardware, there is still a heck of a lot of it out there. The 470.256.02 driver .run package will not build on newer Linux kernels - like Fedora 41’s 6.12-series. However, patch lists are available allowing successful build and use - but have been very difficult to find. Could nVidia issue a minor-version update to the .run package to alloow others to more easily find these enabling patches?

Why don’t you use an older kernel instead with your old hardware? or try the patched distro packages.
