What is the different between Orin NX legacy module and the advanced module? Is it random which one you’ll get, so you should design for both? I can’t find anything on the NVIDIA website.

At present, you can take Orin nano module as the legacy type which is 5V only, and Orin NX as advanced type supporting 5V ~ 20V.
