Measuring distance on Gaussian scenes in Omniverse and recovering metric scale in 3DGS / COLMAP

Hello,

Environment: Omniverse Isaac Sim / Composer, Gaussian-based scene imported as USDZ

Problem:
When I import a Gaussian-based scene into Omniverse, it is not treated as mesh geometry, so the built-in Measure Tool cannot be used to measure distances or object sizes.

Q1 — Is there a way to measure distances on Gaussian scenes?
Is there any supported method to measure length or distance directly from Gaussian representations in Isaac Sim or Composer?
If not, what is the recommended workflow for obtaining accurate measurements?

Q2 — Can metric scale be recovered using markers or other things during reconstruction?
If ArUco markers or other known-size references are captured during data acquisition, is there a standard way to recover accurate real-world scale during 3DGS training or COLMAP reconstruction?

Q3 — Is this workflow currently open-source based?
For accurate scale estimation and measurement, should this be handled through open-source tools and custom processing, or is there any NVIDIA-supported workflow already available?

Thank you.
