Mellanox ConnectX-6 Overheating on Jetson AGX Orin - Active cooling required?

Hello,

Setup:

  • Jetson AGX Orin Developer Kit
  • Mellanox ConnectX-6 Lx Dual-Port 25GbE
  • The CX6 is connected to the Jetson via PCIe.

Issue: After powering on the Jetson, the system reboots after approximately 3–4 minutes. On investigation, noticed the ConnectX-6 Lx card reaches temperatures around 120°C, which seems to trigger the reboot.

The CX6 has a passive heatsink installed.
Should we consider adding active cooling (e.g., a fan) for this card?

Would suggest having additional thermal solution/cooling system for the card.
