Mellanox Technologies MT27710 Family [ConnectX-4 Lx]

hi Team,

in our server, we have the ethernet cards “Mellanox Technologies MT27710 Family [ConnectX-4 Lx]”, but we have installed the driver MLNX_OFED_LINUX-xxx, and I see below service started loading the drivers, only suitable driver module is mlx4_core/ mlx4_en/ mlx5_core to work.

and so far no issues, servers in the network and working fine without any issues, do we see any issues in the future ? my servers in the openstack cloud. do we need upload the unnecessary driver modules from kernel? if ib related drivers in kernel what will be the issue ?

I feel extra modules are in kernel.

Hello Sridar,

Thank you for posting your question on the Mellanox Community.

Based on your request, as you have a ConnectX-4 Lx adapter, which is Ethernet only, it is sufficient to install the MLNX_EN driver package instead of the MLNX_OFED driver package (contains driver for IB and Ethernet and additional fabric tools) → https://www.mellanox.com/products/ethernet-drivers/linux/mlnx_en

As for the additional questions, as OpenStack is not a Mellanox product, the best place to find the necessary information is → https://wiki.openstack.org/

Thank you,
