NCU and driver compatibility

Hi

How can I find more information about this error:

==ERROR== An error was reported by the driver:
==ERROR== Cuda driver is not compatible with Nsight Compute.
==WARNING== Note: Running with uncontrolled GPU caches. Profiling results may be inconsistent.

I would like to know how that king of version incompatibility affect the measurements.

My current system configuration is as below:

Driver Version: 550.90.07
CUDA Version: 12.4
Nsight Compute Version 2025.3.1.0 (build 36398880)
Device: NVIDIA A100-SXM4-80GB (GA100)

Sorry for the issue you met.
Nsight Compute 2025.3.1.0 is aligned with CUDA 13.0/R580 driver.
So if you need to use this version, you need to use driver after R580.

Also you can use Nsight Compute version compatible with CUDA 12.4, that is 2024.1.0.

Note we normally supports compatibility, but don’t guarantee compatibility between big milestones like CUDA 12 to CUDA 13.
