We are looking for some help to connect U.2 / M.2 NVMe external storage to ORIN.

In the below discussion, it was mentioned that J2 and J3 data recorder connectors can be used to connect to M.2 SSDs. Please share the documentation related to the same.

Also like to understand if any Mini SAS HD SFF-8643 - U.2 U2 SFF-8639 cable can be used or not?

DRIVE AGX Orin Developer Kit don’t support NVMe connection by Mini SAS cable.
Thanks.

Hi Jim,

Does that mean, only SAS drives are supported? Or may I know what other protocols are supported?

If we want to connect external NVMe drive, what are all the other options we have? Can we use J2 and J3 connectors for M.2 NVMe drive? If yes, please share us the documentation for the same.

Thanks.

J2 and J3 require customed cable and adaptor, not direct support NVMe.
It is more convenient to use USBSS for external storage.
