Hi everyone,
I’m a complete newbie here. We’re purchasing a few AGX Orin development kits, both for desktop use and for installation on a ground rover for digital agriculture.
I’m completely puzzled about storage. Since an SD card isn’t a viable option for us due to its limited capacity and bandwidth, what’s the best way to attach a standard SSD like a Samsung 990 Pro? From what I see in this table NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin , the NX series supports external NVMe, but apparently, the AGX does not (is that really the case)?
I couldn’t find any clear answers in the FAQ, but I have seen users reporting issues with certain brands (e.g., Transcend), with ominous feedback suggesting kernel modifications might be needed.
So, my question is: what’s the smoothest, most effective, and truly boomer-proof method to attach an SSD to the Orin AGX?
Thank you in advance!
Hi,
On AGX Orin developer kit, there is an M.2 key M slot. You can insert an NVMe SSD card to the slot and flash rootfs to it. Can do it through SDKManager or manually run the commands:
Thank you very much, DaneLLL, for your kind response. I will go through the documentation you provided.
Just one more question: since I’ve seen on the forum that some SSD brands may cause issues, is there a recommended list, or can you suggest a model/brand that, based on user experience, works out of the box?
