New jetson orin nano won’t boot

Apologies if there’s a clear answer to this on the forum already; I’ve read a bunch of troubleshooting threads here and am still not sure what to do next.

I have a brand new jetson orin nano devkit. When I connect the power cable, the green LED lights up and the fan spins, but my monitor (which I have tested separately to make sure it works) never registers any signal coming from the device.

I can’t get it to boot to check the firmware version, so I’ve tried following the “quick start" instructions to boot off both a USB stick (flashing jetsoninstaller-r39.2.0-2026-06-01-23-53-13-arm64 to USB using balenaEtcher) as well as the "JetPack 6.x Update Path” (flashing JP513-orin-nano-sd-card-image_b29 to microSD using balena). Neither case gets to a splash or UEFI screen.

Is there a standard next step? The only thing on the troubleshooting page I haven’t tried is the headless method; I don’t have a USB to TTL cable handy.

Hi,

We suggest to install the sdk manager to full flash the device.

Thanks
