NFS issues - Not starting NFS kernel daemon

I am trying to use NFS to share some files between two nvidia Jetson boards.
However, I am getting following message:

Creating config file /etc/default/nfs-kernel-server with new version
 * Not starting NFS kernel daemon: no exports.
Processing triggers for ureadahead (0.100.0-16) ...

From what I am guessing, not nfs kernel component is there. Do I need to recompile kernel? Is it my only option to get this working?

I think L4T comes with all that is needed for NFS client…but servers do require kernel features to be compiled. I’d advise compiling those features as a non-module because of some relocation errors which are possible (long story, it’s an issue of module being outside of a certain memory range). There are also other packages perhaps needed. See the Documentation subdirectory of the kernel source.

Thanks… Yes. I actually re-built kernel and made sure to add NFS server kernel module. Now it works.

I guess I could keep all other nodes with original kernel since NFS client is ok.
