I wanted to use NSight Systems 2024.4.1 but it reports:
“Cannot connect to the target. Please try again.”
When launching nsys from the terminal it exits with the following message:
“GetLogicalProcessorInformationEx num of cores 96 does not match GetSystemInfo num of cores 48.”
The system has 2x AMD EPYC 74F3 24-Core Processor, 3201 Mhz, 24 Core(s), 48 Logical Processor(s)
How can I make nsys to work?
Thanks!
Hi hrvthzs,
What nsys CLI command line did you try when the error occurred?
What OS is installed on this system?
Hi rknight,
What nsys CLI command line did you try when the error occurred?
nsys profile path-to-binary
I can execute nsys launch path-to-binary
but when I do nsys start
it prints again the same message.
What OS is installed on this system?
Windows Server 2022 Standard
Sorry, but I’m going to ask the nsight systems Windows team to help. @dofek Can you help?
I have a similar problem with a Dual Xeon Processor system. See NSight Systems 2024.4.1 fails to profile on multi-CPU target machine for more information
This system is running Windows 10 BTW.
So this has now been reported twice, both times on Windows OS systems. @dofek can you loop back on this?
