Nvidia 410.73 Extend Monitor Can Not Be Detected

Helllo all,

I’ve a little problem about my Nvidia Graphics Drivers. I cannot see any extend monitor on the nvidia-settings.

Please post the output of

sudo cat /sys/module/nvidia_drm/parameters/modeset

It’s just say Y

Y

Please run

grep modeset /etc/modprobe.d/*

and

grep modeset /lib/modprobe.d/*

to find the file which contains

options nvidia-drm modeset=1

and change it to

options nvidia-drm modeset=0

then run
sudo update-initramfs -u
and reboot.

sudo cat /sys/module/nvidia_drm/parameters/modeset

should return ‘N’ if done right.
Check if the external monitor is available.
Unfortunately you will get tearing afterwards.

Thank you so much.

And yes, the output is N

So the external monitor now is detected? Did this previously work with an earlier driver?

Yes, the external monitor now is detected.

Not exactly, I cannot say that my old driver did that. Because it was working properly, but I’ve a lot of fan noise when I was using the driver 390. So I decided to upgrade 410 LTS using graphics-drivers/ppa channel. After that, everything messed up. I cannot login using UI once even my password was correct. I’ve spend two days for fixing problems with googling. Yesterday I get this point. It was a really bad nightmare for me.
