Hello team Nvidia,
Nvidia AGX Orin industrial module EVK has the power up sequence as attached below. Power up sequence is SYS_VIN_SV → SYS_VIN_HV → SYS_VIN_MV.
Nvidia AGX Orin industrial module EVK Model No: P3730
Jetson AGX Orin Series Modules Design Guide recommends a different power up, as per below. SYS_VIN_SV → SYS_VIN_MV → SYS_VIN_HV
Referred User guide version DG-10653-001_v1.8 – Page No. 20.
Which power-up sequence is appropriate and must be followed?

Based on the provided information, there are two different power-up sequences mentioned for the Jetson AGX Orin Series Modules:
-
The first sequence is mentioned in the context of the Jetson AGX Orin industrial module EVK, which is:
SYSVINSV → SYSVINHV → SYSVINMV
-
The second sequence is mentioned in the Jetson AGX Orin Series Modules Design Guide, which is:
SYSVINSV → SYSVINMV → SYSVINHV
Comparing the two sequences, it is clear that they differ in the order of SYSVINHV and SYSVINMV.
To determine the correct power-up sequence, we need to refer to the official documentation and guidelines provided by NVIDIA for the Jetson AGX Orin Series Modules.
According to the Jetson Orin NX Series and Jetson Orin Nano Series Product Design Guide (DG-10931-001_v1.4), the power-up sequence is not explicitly mentioned. However, it does mention that the power for the module is supplied on the VDD_IN pins and is nominally 5.0V to 20V.
In the absence of explicit information on the power-up sequence in the provided context, it is recommended to follow the sequence mentioned in the Jetson AGX Orin Series Modules Design Guide, which is:
SYSVINSV → SYSVINMV → SYSVINHV
This sequence is mentioned in the official design guide, and it is likely to be the recommended power-up sequence for the Jetson AGX Orin Series Modules.
However, it is always best to consult the official documentation and guidelines provided by NVIDIA for the specific module and EVK being used, as the power-up sequence may vary depending on the specific hardware configuration and requirements.

Hello Trunamany,
While we follow the recommended power sequence SYS_VIN_SV → SYS_VIN_MV → SYS_VIN_HV mentioned in design guide DG-10653-001_v1.8 – Page No. 20.
Results: Nvidia AGX Orin industrial module is not getting boot up.
in case of SYS_VIN_SV → SYS_VIN_HV → SYS_VIN_MV sequence only, module is getting boot up. EVK itself booting up in this sequence. below attached is the waveforms of EVK power up sequence.
should it recommend to following this sequence (SYS_VIN_SV → SYS_VIN_HV → SYS_VIN_MV)?
Hello Trumany,
Do we have any update on this?
The SV → MV → HV sequence in the Design Guide should be followed.
There is a note in section 5.1.1 regarding the sequence discrepancy with the Dev Kit:
Did you ground the J62 pin of the CVM connector?
Hello ChrisB_NV,
We are referring DG-10653-001_v1.8 released in September 2025.
Yes, we have grounded the J62 pin of CVM connector.
Could you provide the power sequence code of Dev kit with sequence of SV → MV → HV ?
So we can flash the code and boot the devkit with recommended power sequence SV → MV → HV.
The AGX Orin Dev Kit carrier board power sequence is not software-controlled.
Hello ChrisB_NV,
For Nvidia AGX Orin industrial module EVK P3730, which user guide version has been referred?
latest EVK available in market comes with which user guide version?
The Jetson AGX Orin Dev Kit was not updated to match the Design Guide.
The latest available version of the Design Guide should always be used. Right now, v1.8 is the latest.
Hello ChrisB_NV,
For Nvidia AGX Orin industrial module EVK P3730, with respect to which user guide version Devkit has been designed?
We understood that latest version of user guide should be followed for newer designs.
The Dev Kit carrier was designed to v1.0 of the Design Guide. The MV → HV sequencing change happened in v1.1.
What is the relevance of this question?
Hello ChrisB_NV,
we know the latest user guide version is V1.8 but could you please provide the user guide version V1.0?
we need to just observe the power sequence of user guide V1.0. I have visited the download center of NVidia but I couldn’t find the user guide version V1.0. it will be helpful if you can provide.
Our device is working with V1.0 power sequence while we are facing issue with V1.8 power sequence, so you can suggest the Devkit part number which can support user guide version V1.8.
Added to my comment from above for better clarity: The Jetson AGX Orin Dev Kit’s power sequence was not updated to match the updates to the Design Guide’s power sequence in v1.1 to v1.8. So there is no Dev Kit exactly matching the updated and recommended power sequence in v1.1 to v1.8.
Design Guide v1.0 is outdated and several updates to the content have been made since then so it cannot be provided.
Have you scoped the rest of the signals on your carrier to compare with the power on sequence in the v1.8 Design Guide?
