I am having Windows 8.1 (64bit) with NVIDIA Quadro NVS 290 card. I have installed all needful graphics driver successfully. But when I tried to install CUDA compiler for windows, it stated that - “The graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware.” Any resolve regarding this issue?
Searching for that message on nvidia.com sites returns the answer multiple times on this very forum.
First, check if the display driver you have installed actually supports the CUDA toolkit you wanted to install. That’s listed on the driver download page.
You most likely tried the CUDA 7.0 toolkit but that doesn’t support compute versions 1.0 to 1.3 anymore. Use CUDA 6.5 instead for your GPU.
Before installing the CUDA toolkit, explicitly deselect the option to install the display driver contained inside the toolkit to keep using the most likely newer one you have installed.
