I am trying to run three monitors on a GT640 on a Arch linux system (kernel 3.12, nvidia drivers 331.20 and XFCE). The three monitors are connected to a VGA-output and 2 DVI-outputs.
At default 2 of the 3 monitors are active with one having a 1024x800 resolution instead of 1280x1024. This is what I did to try to get all 3 running:
- sudo nvidia-settings and configure monitors (one desktop, middle monitor primary) and save to xorg.conf.
- Preview xorg.conf in nvidia-settings and save it as separate file to overwrite xorg.conf later
- Create a new basic xorg.conf with nvidia-xconfig and saving configuration from nvidia-settings...
- In above cases both writing to xorg.conf and merging with xorg.conf
