Question about NVIDIA Tesla P100 power requirements for Dell PowerEdge R730xd:
I have a Dell PowerEdge R730xd server and I’m planning to install an NVIDIA Tesla P100 GPU.
I purchased an 8-pin to 8-pin GPU power cable for the P100.
My questions are:
- Can the P100 be powered with just one 8-pin cable as shown in the photo I’m trying to share?
- Or does it need TWO 8-pin power cables?
- If it needs two cables, why is that necessary?
I want to make sure I have the correct cables before installing the GPU in my R730xd server.
