A question: With Unreal Engine moving towards Substrate (and 5.7 having it enabled by default), are there any plans to support this also in future versions of the NvRTX Caustics branch?
Oh, and on the side: Are these questions better asked on the Discord channel or here?
Any input from the maintainer team would be greatly appreciated. I of course understand their time is limited, but for our side it’s quite relevant to have an idea of what to expect.
The Caustics branch is truly unparalleled and I hope it will continue to develop for years to come :)
Sorry to push, but do you have any news? We’re really eager to move to UE5.7 (even without substrate, for the time being) because of stability and performance. Very much looking forward to the NvRTX 5.7 release.

Again: Also a 5.7 release without Substrate would be very helpful. We’re stuck on 5.4 since the other (5.5 and 5.6) releases have other issues that we can’t work around).
As far as I could find out there is only one person currently taking care of Caustics. They are also responsible for a lot more projects beside that. Which means further development and specifically how it interacts with Substrate is on rather low priority at the moment.
In short, no new updates and no details on direction or ETAs.
