OptiX 3.7 and Linux problems using a GTX 980 GPU

Hi,

I have problems with OptiX 3.7 in Ubuntu 14.04. My system has a GTX 980 GPU and it is a fresh install with the last NVidia driver (343.36), CUDA 6.5.14 and OptiX 3.7

With this configuration my OptiX programs and all the OptiX samples don’t work. All reports “Unknow error”.

Anybody knows what is the best configuration to run OptiX 3.7 with a 980 GPU in Ubuntu?

This ought to work. We haven’t seen this failure. Are you talking about the precompiled samples, or did you compile them yourself? You could try both and see if one way works.

Also, could you try with a different GPU? Different Linux?

And to be clear, this is OptiX 3.7 beta 2, correct?

Sorry, finally we used GTX 780 GPUs in our project. I hope to try the GTX 980 with Linux soon. If I have problems again I will tell you.
