I flashed my dev kit with Jetpack 6.2 on an external NVMe SSD and it was working fine for a while. After some time I couldn’t boot it up. Whenever I powered it on, it was stuck in a boot loop. I observed the fan working for about 0.5 sec then it restarted. Re-flashing using the sdk manager didn’t help. I also tried re-flashing to an SD card, but to no avail.
What could be the problem?
Attached is the output from the serial console during boot. This output repeats itself over and over, I just attached it once for convenience.
Actually reflashing with sdkmanager is a more clean reset than sdcard image. Reflashing sdcard does not really make any difference unless the crash is in file system. But that is 100% not for your case.
I would like to know whether the attempt to flash with sdkmanager really succeeded or not first.
Does your “didn’t help” mean “I tried, but flash didn’t succeed” or your flash was successful but the error still comes? Or you don’t even know it was successful or not.
Flashing using the SDK Manager didn’t succeed. At around 97-98% it was waiting for the Jetson to reboot, but it was already stuck in a boot loop, so the flashing process timed out.
