How do I get my Jetson Orin Nano Developer Kit to boot?

After flashing an SD Card and plugging it in to my Jetson Orin Nano Developer Kit, the Kernel displays and then goes to a black screen after attempting a direct boot (This is repeatable and consistent). The green light on the board turns on, the fan turns on, and then when the black screen displays the fan turns off while the green light remains active. I’ve also noticed the heat sync continues to increase in temperature while the fan is off.

I’ve tried re-flashing the SD card, using the SDK Manager Method (No board was detected) and multiple re-downloads of the SD Card Image. I’ve done this from both Windows and Linux OS. I’m not very familiar with Docker systems, so if that’s a possible solution (also the current focus of my efforts) some further explanation would always be greatly appreciated.

I have access to the boot loader options, but I’m not sure if there’s any tools in the settings of the kernel that would be helpful with what seems to me, to be a boot-loader issue.

I’ve seen some posts about additional tools within the SDK manager that could help, but I’m not sure what tools are available to me.

Please flash your board with jetpack5 first as jetpack6 is still a developer preview.

I don’t suggest a newbie to directly try a developer preview version.

I’ve re-flashed my SD card with Jetpack 5.1.2 and I’m still having similar issues. Any other recommendations?

Please flash your board with sdkmanager. If there is error in flash, click the “EXPORT LOGS” button on the sdkmanager GUI.

Sdcard image is not a real flash method for any Jetson.

I’ve tried flashing with the SDK manager a few times and I still seem to be having the same issue, where I’m unable to flash because the board isn’t able to be located.

I’m able to skip past these steps, but I’m not sure if this is expected.

I have the option to export files, but I’m not sure which ones are needed. I’d like to avoid sending unnecessary files. As I’m looking at a long list for EXPORT LOGS.

Could you help me figure out how to pick which files I need to send over?

Thanks for the help.

Attach the whole zip file here.

Here’s the .zip file from my SDKM_logs I did the last one with JetPack 6 but I can also redownload JetPack 5.1.2 if that would be a better version to try and debug on.

The flash process does not even start.

Please choose manual setup when you see this box coming out from sdkmanager.

Also, make sure your board is in recovery mode.

After choosing Manual Setup, selecting a username and password it seems like I’m still getting some errors.

I followed the instructions by connecting pins 9 and 10 to get the board to boot into recovery mode.

I then plugged in the power cable, and it seems like I’ve had another repeat of the same issue.

The fan turns on and then after a few seconds turns off, and the SDKmanager still does not recognize the board.

Your pin connection is on wrong location… The pin 9/10 is under the module but not the 40 pin header.
