Patch for enabling PCIE 12V and 3.3V

Hello!

I am trying to make the PCIE AS3142 USB 3.2 expansion card to work on Jetson ORIN. While searching for clues I have stumbled upon the threads that say that there is a problem with power and that a patch is available for enabling the required 12V and 3.3V regulator.

I checked the documentation “NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin Developer Kit Carrier Board Specification” for the PCIe power limit: on page 43, Table 6-2 “Interface Supply Current Capabilities” shows max current of 5.5 A at 12 V for PCIe connector on the same page, Table 6-3 “Supply Current Capabilities per Connector per Supply” shows only 3A at 12V for the PCIe connector. Why is the current limited to only 3 A on the PCIe connector if the 12 V rail (NCP81599 DC-DC) is capable to deliver 5.5 A output?…

PCIe x16 supply not enabled on Development Kit

Hello, I’m trying to use a PCIe card with the AGX Orin Developer Kit. The problem is that the 3.3V and 12V power supplies are not enabled after inserting a card. Only the 3V3AUX supply is active. Now, I was able to enable the power supplies by updating the device tree file tegra234-p3737-fixed-regulator.dtsi as follows: remove the flag “regulator-boot-on” for the nodes p3737_vdd_3v3_pcie and p3737_vdd_12v_pcie p3737_vdd_3v3_pcie: change the gpio pin value to TEGRA234_MAIN_GPIO(H, 4) Is …

Since I am new to the Jetson family and I am a competent beginner in Linux at best I don’t really know how to apply the provided patch or compile my own kernel. How can I do this? My efforts in googling were fruitless, I didn’t find any good tutorials or procedures on how to accomplish this.
