Peculiar Differences in Prism Mesh Caustics UE-NVRTX 5.2 vs 5.4


Hi, I just updated to NVRTX Caustics 5.4 by compiling from the zip file available on GitHub. I Wanted to compare performance between the engines, so, I opened the prism mesh caustics demo in 5.2, and copied the same project into my 5.4 engine folder.

I immediately noticed strange differences in how reflection/refraction are appearing within the prism gem materials. The 5.2 version looks much more accurate to me and pleasing to the eye than 5.4, there are also noticeable differences with how the same static mesh is rendered between 5.2 and 5.4.

I am wondering if this difference is purely due to the BP_RTX and materials having been created for 5.2, and therefore their are incompatibilities with 5.4?

I have tried adjusting some engine console commands to sample for more bounces or translucency but I have been unable to fix the strange shadowing.

If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.
