PopOS 22.04 :: NVidia 3070 not showing Fan Duty

Hi people

I cannot control ASUS NVidia 3070 OC Fan Duty, not only that, there is no data about the fans

it was working months ago

I have coolbits at 12 :: sudo tail -f /var/log/syslog | grep “error” shows 0 errors

** right now I just have limited W at 100 using GWE compiled from gitlab since I’m not using the card I prefer to keep power draw low (that’s why is showing 23w/100w)

that’s my system info >>

So the “GPU Fan” display of nvidia-smi always stays at 0%?
Please check if this is a driver regression, e.g. by downgrading to the 470 driver.
If that doesn’t work either, the fan’s speed sensor is likely broken.

yo are right

looks like hardware sensors stopped to work

downgraded to 475 and fans still showing 0

booting into Windows fans show 0 also

ok I just found the issue

is as simple as my GPU is not getting hotter as time ago, then fans do not trigger

fan RPM sensor is working

I guess because before was summer and room temperature was hotter

also months ago I was used to compute a lot, having always fans spinning

I’m back to Nvidia 520 (actually I was at 500 before)
