problem Tesla C2050 installation Cuda Toolkit and Ubuntu

Dear all

I have a problem when installing my Tesla C2050 nvidia card that is now a few years old. I tried to do it using Ubuntu 16.04 with Cuda Toolkit version 8 and 9. Both seem to fail because drivers will not function properly with my Tesla card. Not all functionalities seem to work.
Does anybody know how to do to have this up and running ok?

CUDA 8 supports your card. CUDA 9 does not.

THe driver bundled with the CUDA 8 installer will work with your card.
