When are we getting drivers for the mobile Quadro RTX’s that support CUDA 11.4 on Linux? A beta driver would be fine. I would really like to run the current Optix version rather than use the older version and the latest supported driver is r460.91.03 unfortunately.
Never I assume by the lack of a response.
We’ve had problems with the Mobile variant drivers for a very long time. It’s getting worse because most portable workstation laptops have a Mobile/Max-Q inside and thus it is difficult to specify a non-mobile RTX/Quadro/Geforce/etc.
Great! A new features driver v495.44, that works for me!
NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-495.29.05.run - Not working
NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-495.44.run - Working
NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-510.73.05.run - Not working
NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-515.48.07.run - Not working
*515.57.run also does not work (no surprise at this point).
Finally got time to look into this in depth. The problem was somehow 495.44 and somehow a r450 driver, which I were conflicting with everything but 495.44 as indicated by /proc/drivers/nvidia/version. I could not find any trace of these drivers in the initramfs image, the root filesystem or otherwise from running modinfo on each ko binary for the 3 main modules. Even more odd was rmmod’ing the nvidia-drm nvidia-modeset and nvidia drivers and then modprobing again resolved it. I would have expected the rmmod to be temporary. I might need to look at the modprobe script later, but I’m still not entirely sure what happened there, but the original issue is resolved and I’m on r530 now.
