re-opening an issue we discussed back in 2022 – which was not really answered back then.

Jetson Nano Kernel Upgrade

Hi, Reactivating: Upgrading kernel to 5+ is there any option / plan / schedule for an Kernel Upgrade for Jetson devices (esp. Nano). I see the current LTS Kernel 4.9 is ending LTS support in 01/2023. Current JetPack contains 4.9.253 (approx. 1,5 years old). Is there any means on updating the Jetson Nano to something more modern (5.+ better 6.+) including Nano Driver support? Not sure if the dated Versions will be feasible for resale (in products) if no Security / Support will be available. Pr…

Is there a schedule for security updates for the Jetson Nano (updates for 32.7.4) ? The Nano module will be produced untill 2027. I would expect security patches for the old 3.9 kernel until 2032 then? New EU regulations (cybersecurity resilience act) expect at least 5 years of security patches. Customers ask already for written declarations. Will NVIDIA help us, the integrators, with this? When will we reach EOL for the Jetson Nano Kernel?

How are the support plans for Jetson Orin Nano (as we plan our new products with this module). Same question here: what is the release / security support plan for the module?

Is there a written statement/roadmap by NVIDIA on software support?
