Im in a bit of a situation with my 6000 ADA + Threadripper system. This high spec workstation just recently decided to cap performance and framerate in all Unreal development at 10FPS. Ive tried just about everything to figure out what is going on but I cannot seem to shake this issue.
The situation is very strange. Using 5.1 to 5.3 UE I have created new scenes for all versions and no matter what I do I keep getting 9-10FPS. A look at the performance monitor never shows any serious spike in usage on the GPU so Im wondering if something somewhere is capping the power of the RTX card?
Here are the specs of the workstation:
6000 ADA GPU
Threadripper Pro 5975WX
768 GB RAM
3x 2tb Samsung 990 Pro SSD’s (New)
Any insight as to what may be going on would be a huge help. Ive been stuck on this for days. Tried numerous Nvidia control panel settings to no avail.
Hello @MarkusHoHo thank you for the welcome and reply!
It seems after 24 hours I have solved the matter. Exactly what was causing it I have no solid idea but I reinstalled Nvidia drivers, amd threadripper chipset drivers, shut down the workstation, cleaned everything inside, removed RTX 6000 card and moved it down to the 3rd PCIe slot, rebooted and launched the same fresh Unreal project and now things are at 80-100fps. I then loaded the desired project previously being worked on and fps is around 50-60fps, good enough to work with but the final fps test will be LiveLink use from iclone > Metahuman/Unreal. This usually kills off average of10fps so I hope its enough to squeeze by in the sequencer!
I had installed the nvidia dlss plugins to give that a go and see if I can achieve a framerate boost but im seeing only a few points now, not double like some claims online. Perhaps my config is not perfect so I will look to fine tune this.
Are there any obvious settings from the nvidia control panel and inside Unreal that are recommended for max performance? Also, I gave the RTX Unreal branch a go a few days prior. In your opinion, would this branch offer superior performance enhancements over the standard Unreal release with the DLSS plugins?
