I have an NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Workstation Edition whose vBIOS predates MIG support, and I’m trying to find the correct path to obtain an official vBIOS update.
The documented minimum vBIOS for MIG on this card is 98.02.55.00.00, and mine is below that at 98.02.52.00.02, so enabling MIG fails with “Not Supported.”
Card details:
Product: RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Workstation Edition (GB202GL)
PCI Device ID: 0x2BB1 (10de:2bb1)
Subsystem ID: 0x204B (10de:204b) — i.e. NVIDIA-direct, not an AIB partner board
Since the subsystem vendor is 10DE (NVIDIA-direct), could a moderator please confirm the correct channel for obtaining the signed vBIOS update and end-user flash utility for this board? I can provide the serial number privately for verification.
The card was purchased through a reseller in Switzerland about two years ago; I’d also appreciate confirmation of who handles the firmware/RMA path for that region if it is not NVIDIA-direct.
To clarify our situation: the card was purchased as a PNY RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Workstation Edition (96 GB) from a local reseller in Switzerland in October 2025. So we do have a channel to go back to, and we’re pursuing PNY support in parallel.
One thing we’d appreciate your help confirming, because it’s causing confusion on our end: although the board was sold to us as PNY, the reported subsystem ID is 0x204B / 10DE (i.e. NVIDIA subsystem vendor), not the 196E we’d expect for a PNY-branded board. Device ID is 0x2BB1. Could you confirm, based on this subsystem/device ID, whether this board is in fact serviced by PNY, or whether the 10DE subsystem indicates it should be handled through a different channel?
We just want to make sure we approach the correct party for the signed vBIOS update (>= 98.02.55.00.00) so we don’t lose time bouncing between contacts.
This is quite clearly explained in post 8 of the link above:
“In fact, ALL RTX PRO products are produced by/for Nvidia directly, so ALL have the 10DE ID as Vendor ID and as SubSystemVendor ID. NONE of our partners build these products themselves, and would have their own SSVID. Which translates, having a board with SSVID 10DE is NOT any indication of “original” or where you bought the card from…”
The instructions following:
“Hence my recommendation to contact PNY and/or TDS directly, with the SN they can confirm if its a GPU resold via them, and then they can (and already have to a few others here in the forum) provide the field upgrade tool…”
and the last post:
“Your path is either:
you work with Provantage to request either - VBIOS field update tool, or even RMA - from where Provantage bought, who then will have to go to where they bought from - loop here -, until it reaches like PNY, TDS or maybe another distributor we work with in the US market.
OR: you contact TDS (PNY you already checked) directly, to check SN, and obtain that VBIOS update, or even RMA for a new GPU with the correct VBIOS…”
are also quite explicit, although I admit it’s a potententially time consuming and frustrating process.
