Screen stuck at a log

my jetpack is 4.6
After i rebooted the board the monitor was stuck at a log and no further response from monitor
debuflog_after_cuda_installation.txt (20.3 KB)
I can access ssh
Monitor is not interacting as it is stuck at a log

Please dump the dmesg and /var/log/Xorg.0.log here.

hereby sharing the log for both cases when ethernet is connected and not connected
When ethernet is connected to the device , im getting the issue
dmesg_eth_connected.txt (61.2 KB)
var_log_issue_Xorg.0.log (15.2 KB)
Issue is like, im able to log in to device and after 2…3 minutes the issue occur which im adding to this querry
but im able to get ssh

When ethernet is not connected
dmesg_eth_not_connected.txt (120.8 KB)
var_log_Xorg.0.log (14.8 KB)

monitor is stuck at this stage

What are you trying to say here? So the issue won’t happen when you do not connect the ethernet?

Issue is like, im able to log in to device and after 2…3 minutes the issue occur which im adding to this querry

So the GUI was there in the beginning?

yes
It was present after flashing
after that i connected ethernet and installed cuda packages
at that time also there was no issues
after installing cuda packages
while ethernet is connected issue is there

OK. I guess it is just simple case.

What is the result of “df -h” when this issue happened?

700 mb was remaining i guess

image
ethernet is connected to internet
and when ethernet is not present the device wont automatically show the hdmi issue

when ethernet is connected we are able to login and after 2 minutes it showss this issue
still ssh is available

waiting for response

The issue here is simple. Your xorg is disabled by some reason.

What is the result of running sudo service restart gdm3 ?

Please also check your xorg.log got refreshed by this command after restart?

Also, how about you boot up first without ethernet check the /var/log/syslog first. Remember the timestamp of the last line

Then, plug the ethernet cable there. If what you told is true, after a while your GUI will disappear.

After GUI disappear, go back to your /var/loog/syslog and see what got recorded after you connect the ethernet.

cat /var/log/syslog | tail

Hi,

I think you could try more tests on your side first to summarize how to trigger this issue first.

When error happened, check the service status of gdm3 and see why it not able to get up.

Your new error is something new. Never reported in any of your previous log before. I don’t consider them to be as issue actually.

scenario 1:
ethernet is connected
board gets booted
i enterned user name and password
This is the Xorg log
scenario1.txt (12.7 KB)

I run the command
sudo systemctl restart gdm3

The monitor showed a blackscreen and restarted to he login page
I gave the username and password
I went to blackscreen

After 3…4 minutes
It came ON to login page again
After login in , device is running now

This is the syslog

As of now the board is running
can’t identify what is the root cause

Then please reflash the board. It could be a quick way.

Move to use rel-32.7.4 too.

ok
I will reflash
then we can install cuda packages 10.2 which is needed using commands right ?

The firmware or the image is custom

I flashed the device
There was no issue initially
I connected internet via ethernet
after 1 minute
to install cuda packages , I run the command sudo apt-get update
Within 10seconds the issue occured

Now i rebooted the device , then the issue occured
My observation is when the device is booting with ethernet connected , iam able to log in to device
But the issue is occuring after 3…4 minutes

I tried without connecting that ethernet 24minutes
no issue occured
Then i connected the ethernet cable till now device hasn’t shown any error

Which jetpack version is in use here?

How did you install cuda?

Jetpack 4.6
Now cuda is not installed

What is your exact point to keep using jp4.6? Is there any special requirement to test on this?

Even if there is a bug, it won’t get fixed. We don’t really debug issues on old release… better moving to latest rel-32.7.4…
