For commands i2cread x y z n or i2cwrite x y z n b0 b1.. What is the valid applicable range of values for arguments x(i2c controller) and y(device address) and n(number of bytes)?
I notice i2cscan is an Invalid command on MCU console with Thor. so, what could be the alternative to know the available device addresses?
When I execute the i2cread command as shared in the comment quoted above from another query on forum. I see MCU reset sometimes due to DET error.(log attached-i2cread_DET_reset_log.txt)
Is there preconditions to be considered for i2cread/write to avoid the reset?
Another observation for i2cwrite is that the write command is executed only if we write 1 byte of data, for n>1 it gives error. Is it the expected behavior? (log attached-i2cread_write_logs.txt)
With i2cread, it is reading same value always 0x5B 0xFF 0xFF… what is the interpretation of these values?
Eventhough i2cwrite is executed with different value and then i2cread is performed, output of i2cread is still 0x5B 0xFF… always. How can we read back the written value?
Dear @divya.bilimoria ,
i2cread and i2cwrite commands are used to read and write data of registers of devices like temperature monitoring and voltage monitoring etc. However, these things can be done using other commands listed in MCU console as well. To know more details about voltage and temperature monitoring modules, you need MCU reference guide which is not available via DevZone.
