after a clean install (Ubuntu 16.04) with CUDA i get some strange behavior… the first time i run nvidia-smi
it takes quite some time, one core runs at 100% for a while and afterward the gpu fan start blazing, the second time it gives an error and the third time the whole computer freezes…
2 monitors are connected to the intel integrated graphics and nothing to the Titan.
i reinstalled ubuntu several times in order to test CUDA + drivers or to install CUDA and the drivers separately and o-ce with the monitors connected to the Titan in order to verify it is in working order.
before reinstalling i used the 367 driver, using that one again did not help
i am unable to get one point from the CUDA install guide done: /dev/nvidia*
folder is still missing even the startup-script given is not able to create that folder. i saw it was missing before but then everything just worked fine, could this be the problem?
