Software updating from Jetpack 4.4.1 prevents jetson nano 2gb SD card from loading lxdm

sudo apt upgrade or running software updater from Jetpack 4.4.1 keeps bricking jetson nano 2gb SD card. On reboot after update, it is unable to complete boot. It has happened to me three times already.

Should I just start from Jetpack 4.5 now?

Sorry, it’s not bricked. It just isn’t loading the GUI login screen. Alt Ctrl F1 is giving me a shell. startx from that shell after logging in takes me directly to gnome. I was using lxde before as it was lightweight. Is there a way to get the generic lxde environment? Or somehow be able to run a program that requires X11 without it? When I run my program, it says no X11 environment so does not open a display window.

hello cloud9ine,

may I know what’s the application you would like to run. please have a try with $ xinit & for setup display rendering.

BTW,
it’s suggest to revise the title to avoid confusion.
thanks

Thanks, I have updated the title. I will give this a try when I get back to this.
