I am writing on behalf of the Michigan Autonomous Aerial Vehicles Team, a student-run group at the University of Michigan that is participating in the International Aerial Robotics Competition (IARC).
Our team builds and designs fully autonomous, lightweight drone swarms that have independent navigation, collision avoidance, and capitalizes on computer vision for classification. We are currently developing around performance capped platforms (Raspberry Pi), however we are looking to upgrade our stack for future competitions.
Our team has experience with NVIDIA Jetson but not enough for us to make effective use.
Furthermore, due to limited funding, we are reaching out to NVIDIA to see if you all can sponsor us either through monetary methods, or hardware methods. We would be extremely grateful for any support and technical mentorship to our project team.
Alongside any support we would be extremely happy to:
- Feature NVIDIA’s logo and (if applicable) hardware credits on our drone swarm, website, outreach materials, and member merchandise
- Share progress, updates, benchmarks, any data that can apply to your research
- Highlight your role in supporting student project teams in International UAV competitions
If there is a formal process or contact for academic sponsorships, we would really appreciate it if someone from the NVIDIA team could direct us there.
