Do we need to purchase a subscription license in order to enable the RoCE Extensions (AR, CC and Performance isolation) on a Spectrum-X platform?
I’m asking because I previously saw the following SKUs listed in older datasheets that appeared to be related to Spectrum-X software/subscription licensing:
798-XSPEXZ-P3CMI36
798-XSPEXZ-P3CMI60
798-YSPEXZ-P3CMI36
798-YSPEXZ-P3CMI60
798-SPEXEVAL
However, these SKUs seem to have been removed or are no longer present in the most recent datasheets.
Could anyone clarify whether these licenses are still required, have been replaced by different SKUs, or if the RoCE Extensions are now included by default with the hardware?
There are 2 aspects to confirm your questions, Technical and Commercial.
Technically: If you have Spectrum-X switches + supported SuperNICs + supported NOS/DOCA stack, you can enable AR/CC/performance-isolation purely via configuration; no extra license key is needed.
Commercially: Whether a Spectrum-X subscription SKU should be quoted in a given deal is a packaging/pricing question, not a technical enablement requirement. That should be confirmed with the account team/CPM or product marketing using the latest pricebook.
