switch problem

Hi folks!
Here’s the problem:

nebojsa@nebojsa:~$ pgf90 -f x.f
pgf90-Warning-Unknown switch: -f
pgf90-Error-file with unknown suffix ignored: x.f
nebojsa@nebojsa:~$

System recognizes the pgf90:

nebojsa@nebojsa:~$ which pgf90
/opt/pgi/linux86/6.2/bin/pgf90
nebojsa@nebojsa:~$

Thanks!

Nebojsa

Hi Nebojsa,

pgf90-Warning-Unknown switch: -f

This is correct since “-f” isn’t one of our switches.

pgf90-Error-file with unknown suffix ignored: x.f

The only time I’ve ever seen this one is when the compiler configuration files (RC files) got corrupted. What the output of “pgf90 -dryrun x.f”?

Hi Mat!

Here’s the output:

nebojsa@linux-n8xs:~> pgf90 -dryrun x.f
Reading rcfile /opt/pgi/linux86/6.2/bin/pgf90rc
Reading rcfile /opt/pgi/linux86/6.2/bin/pgftnrc
pgf90-Warning-Unknown switch: -dryrun
pgf90-Error-file with unknown suffix ignored: x.f
nebojsa@linux-n8xs:~>

Thanks a lot!

Hi Nebojsa,

Looks like your missing most of the ‘rc’ configuration files. Is this a new installation? Has this installation worked before?

It worked on OpenSuse 10.x . Now I have 11.1. What are ‘rc’ configration files? Are they system files or PGI files? How can I fix this problem?
Thanks and regards!
