Titan RTX with Isaac Sim 99% usage and temperature swings around 83-85 °C on empty viewport

Hi,

When starting the NVIDIA Omniverse Isaac Sim the gpu usage goes to 99-100% and the temperature goes up to 85 °C.

It does so even when there is no scene and the Stage only contains the default World Xform with the defaultLight.

Why is the usage utilisation 100% - if nothing is being rendered, and the tool is idle. Is constantly being around this temperature normal?

This is my nvidia-smi output:

What’s the isaac sim?
It has a forum at
https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/c/agx-autonomous-machines/isaac/simulation/69

Thanks @generix
It is a simulation tool created by NVIDIA.

However, my main concern is the temperature. Is this something normal?
The temperature when its idle is around 34-36.

nvidia-smi --query

will show you the valid temperature ranges… i.e.:

Temperature
    GPU Current Temp : 35 C
    GPU Shutdown Temp : 94 C
    GPU Slowdown Temp : 91 C
    GPU Max Operating Temp : 89 C
    GPU Target Temperature : 84 C

Your idle temp is perfectly normal.
Some people add additional heat sinks for heavy load scenarios.

In the gpu process list, there’s still the omniverse-kit running. Since you say, it’s not rendering anything, you should ask in the mentioned forum if this is a bug with the sim.
Running a Turing at 84°C for an extended time is not advisable, the fans only running at 65%.
