Ubuntu 18.04 not using nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti

Hi,
Recently my dell xps 15 laptop running ubuntu 18.04 stopped using its nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti and started falling back to the worse intel graphics card. It had been working before, but recently stopped, and i’m not sure what has changed. I first noticed this because of slowness while playing games, the about section in system settings shows the intel card. I’ve ran “prime-select nvidia” (and restarted afterwards), which has been saying “Info: the nvidia profile is already set”. I have nvidia-driver-440 installed and selected in the software & updates settings.

This is the nvidia-smi output:

I’ve attached the bug report output: nvidia-bug-report.log (2.1 MB)

Can anyone tell why the card isn’t being used?

Looks like you’re running on Wayland now, try to disable it:
