Ubuntu 20,04 boots to black screen after installing 460 driver for RTX 3070

I’m running a ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 (GA503QR-211.ZG15), AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS Processor (3.1GHz - 4.5GHz) Processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Max-Q (8GB) laptop.

It’s using Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS : 5.4.0-74-generic #83-Ubuntu SMP Sat May 8 02:35:39 UTC 2021 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux.

I tried to install nvidia drivers with sudo ubuntu-drivers autoinstall , but get a black screen after boot.

I tried a few rounds of following instructions on similar topics without any luck.

I was able to log in with ctrl + alt + f2 and captured a bug report
nvidia-bug-report.log.gz (297.4 KB)

Looking at journalctl it seems like the gnome session is failing with “No GPUs with outputs found”

Any recommendation for being able to get the driver up and running.
