I’m having issues installing Guest drivers for my Windows 10 VM.
Configuration:
- Server with ESXi 8.0
- Installed both Host drivers for vGPU and GPU Management. Verified functionality with nvidia-smi and nvidia-smi vgpu commands in ESXi terminal.
- I have also set one of the GPUs to passthrough and assigned it to my VM in the VM settings
- In the same zip folder that I downloaded with the Host Drivers is the Guest Drivers directory that contained my Linux and Windows drivers. I copied the windows drivers 552.74_grid_win10_win11_server2022_dch_64bit_international.exe over to my Windows VM but after running the installer, i get the error that says “This NVIDIA Graphics Driver is not compatible with your devcice”.
Any ideas why?
Previously, if I just did a straight GPU passthrough and installed Nvidia Drivers for that specific card to the VM, it’ll detect the GPU and i can run Nvidia-Smi. Those drivers alone obviously dont work for the vgpu, so i uninstalled those and then installed these Guest drivers.
