Virtual Camera interfaces on one port

Hi

On the Jetson Orin NX

Looking to use 5 CSI sensors (operating at 15FPS 1MP) on a single 4-lane CSI port with a virtual channel aggregator. I have a different sensor using the full 4-lane on the the other CSI port.

Is this sensor configuration possible? How many virtual channels can be used on a single CSI port?

Only support to 4 sensors for virtual channel for each trio.

Does that mean I could do 4 sensors on one 2-lane, and a single on the other 2-lane. (All while using the other 4-lane fully with a high res sensor).

RIght, but Orin NX only support to 4 cameras.

The spec you linked says Orin NX supports up to 8 cameras (via virtual channels). Is this correct?

To clarify the problem, would it be possible to connect 6 cameras simultaneously in the following configuration:

  • 4 cameras on a 2-lane CSI port via virtual channel aggregator
  • 1 camera on another 2-lane CSI port directly
  • 1 camera on a 4-lane CSI port directly

4 cameras share two lanes would have bandwidth concern.

The cameras we’re using are 1MP running at low framerates so bandwidth isn’t a problem here.
Our main concern is the Orin NX virtual channel support/limitations - can you confirm if it would be possible to connect 6 cameras simultaneously in the configuration shown above?
