Visualizing the 3D bounding boxes created by BasicWriter

How can I visualize the 3D bounding boxes created by BasicWriter in Replicator?

The question has been asked before but I couldn’t reply to it.

Here are the files we have:

bounding_box_3d_0020.npy

and

bounding_box_3d_labels_0020.json

The visualization documentation only includes 2D bounding box visualization:
https://docs.omniverse.nvidia.com/prod_extensions/prod_extensions/ext_replicator/visualization.html

Hello @mona.jalal! I’ve shared your post with the dev team for further assistance!

Hi @WendyGram
Is there have any update about that?

Hello,

For “offline” visualization after rendering images, we have Replicator Insight

You can also visualize them in the Omniverse Viewport

it may not be the right place to ask, but can these visualizations from the synthetic data sensors extension be set to RenderVar and get rendered out with PT as AOVs or is it strictly in viewport?

It is currently in-viewport or as a separate numpy file that you would need to re-construct the overlay on, but I think that is a good feature request to have the option to have these bbox’s overlayed for you (perhaps as an additional image/annotation output).

For now I can mockup a script that will do it for you, similar to the 2d BBox example.

Hi, is there a possibility to get a script which visualizes 3d bounding box from .npy files on images using python (similar to 2d bbox visualization script) outside of nvidia omniverse? Thanking you for your support
