I have just bought a SX1012 that is being setup for large image transfers over Ethernet. The setup
appears to go through without any errors which was done several times. I can access with serial or
ssh however both http port 80 and https 433 are available and come back with errors:
The page isn’t redirecting properly
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.
Same happens with any browser from any internal workstation.
This is the “web” setup on mgmt0
mellanox-2 [standalone: master] # show web
Web User Interface:
Web interface enabled: yes
HTTP enabled: yes
HTTP port: 80
HTTP redirect to HTTPS: no
HTTPS enabled: yes
HTTPS port: 443
HTTPS certificate name: default-cert
Listen enabled: yes
No Listen Interfaces.
Inactivity timeout: 1 hr
Session timeout: 2 hr 30 min
Session renewal: 30 min
Web file transfer proxy:
Proxy enabled: no
Web file transfer certificate authority:
HTTPS server cert verify: yes
HTTPS supplemental CA list: default-ca-list
I have multiple enterprise devices like switches that work fine from port 80 or port 443 on the
same test workstation.
Thank you

Hi Daniel, Open a ticket with Mellanox support. They can probably provide you with the version image. (support@mellanox.com mailto:support@mellanox.com )
P.S. A support contract for your equipment should not be very costly. you should consider.
Hello Paul
What revision of code are you running on the switch?

Hi Paul,
AFAIK this issue is fixed in newer versions of the MLNX-OS software. what is the MLNX-OS code running (“show version concise”)?
Hello Steve,
I bought this switch from Paul on Ebay to build a small private renderfarm for VR
and photogrammetry (for students and IT enthusiasts).
I can ping the MGMT Port but the browser (MS-IE11) can‘t open the WebUI page.
The software revision is:
U-Boot 2009.01 SX_PPC_M460EX SX_3.2.0330-82 ppc (Dec 20 2012 - 17:53:54)
Default image: ‘SX_PPC_M460EX SX_3.3.5006 2014-05-20 12:19:44 ppc’
Is there a possibillity to get an MLNX-OS update for this switch?
Thank you!
Daniel
Hello Yairi,
thanks for your answer. I got the update Image files from Mellanox.
Procedure was, install first “image-PPC_M460EX-SX_3.4.0012.img 2014-12-15”
after this update the WebUI was working.
2nd update was “image-PPC_M460EX-3.4.2008.img 2015-06-12”
3rd update “image-PPC_M460EX-3.5.1006.img 2016-03-09”
and 4th was “image-PPC_M460EX-3.6.1002.img 2016-06-09”
I installed all updates in CLI mode from a USB stick. But not all USB sticks are good for this.
Only an old USB 2.0 4GB stick Fat32 formatted was working.
