What is the impact of the obsolescence of the Nucleus and Omniverse platforms?

Hi everybody,

From the discussion on that link Omniverse Launcher Support Until End 2024?, we’re moving away from Launcher and instead integrating all our Omniverse technology into our SDK and kit app templates.

I understand the logic, but I don’t understand what the impact is on us and how do we use it?

The SDK and kit are used to develop scenes and graphics, if I’ve understood correctly. But what about Isaac Sim? How can we use it with this platform?

Is it also supported by Window or will we need Linux as for Nucleus Entreprise?
Is it free or do we have to pay?

Sorry, I have a lot of questions, but I can’t find anything online that explains how this affects us, and how to use the new format.

Thank you for your reply.

The impact on everyone is very very small. Everything we do, you will still have access to. The main Kit SDK is available on our NGC website, www.ngc.nvidia.com and also on GITHUB. Isaac Sim will also have a direct download link in time, long before Launcher goes. It will all still be totally free. No change. If you need Nucleus, which most people do not, you can also get that from our NGC website as well, for free.

So really no changes, except Launcher itself is going away, but not for most of this year!
