Which port in device tree for uart2 and uart3 in jetson agx orin JP6.2?

Dear all:

in Jetpack6.2, with jetson AGX orin,
we use uart5 in schematic diagram which corresponding to uart2 in soc. which device tree point it is? Does it 3140000?
and uart3 in soc device tree point? Does it 3110000?

Thank you very much!!!

The Jetson AGX Orin is a part of the NVIDIA Jetson Orin Series, which also includes the Jetson Orin NX and Jetson Orin Nano. The Jetson AGX Orin is a high-performance module designed for edge AI applications, offering advanced features and capabilities.

Here’s a comparison of the Jetson AGX Orin with the other two modules in the series:

  1. Performance: The Jetson AGX Orin is the most powerful module in the series, offering up to 275 TOPS (tera-operations per second) of AI performance. In contrast, the Jetson Orin NX offers up to 100 TOPS, and the Jetson Orin Nano offers up to 20 TOPS.

  2. Power Consumption: The Jetson AGX Orin has a higher power consumption compared to the other two modules, with a maximum power consumption of 60W. The Jetson Orin NX has a maximum power consumption of 15W, and the Jetson Orin Nano has a maximum power consumption of 5W.

  3. Memory and Storage: The Jetson AGX Orin comes with up to 64GB of LPDDR5 memory and 256GB of eMMC storage. The Jetson Orin NX comes with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 memory and 128GB of eMMC storage, while the Jetson Orin Nano comes with up to 4GB of LPDDR4 memory and 16GB of eMMC storage.

  4. Connectivity: All three modules offer similar connectivity options, including PCIe, USB, and Ethernet. However, the Jetson AGX Orin also offers additional connectivity options, such as CAN (Controller Area Network) and UART.

  5. Software Support: All three modules run on the NVIDIA Jetson Linux operating system and offer similar software features, including support for NVIDIA’s deep learning frameworks and tools.

In terms of specific features and capabilities, the Jetson AGX Orin offers:

  • Advanced AI Performance: The Jetson AGX Orin offers advanced AI performance, making it suitable for demanding edge AI applications.
  • High-Speed Interfaces: The module offers high-speed interfaces, including PCIe and USB, making it suitable for applications that require high-speed data transfer.
  • Advanced Security Features: The Jetson AGX Orin offers advanced security features, including secure boot and encryption, making it suitable for applications that require high security.

In summary, the Jetson AGX Orin is a high-performance module designed for edge AI applications, offering advanced features and capabilities. While it has a higher power consumption compared to the other two modules, it offers advanced AI performance, high-speed interfaces, and advanced security features, making it suitable for demanding edge AI applications.

Hi 848145724,

Are you using the devkit or custom board for AGX Orin?

It should be 3110000.serial.

It is the Tegra Combined UART which can be used for debug only. i.e. it cannot be used for custom use case.

You can refer to https://elinux.org/Jetson/L4T/peripheral/#Mapping_3 for the mapping.

we use custom board, use tegra234-p3737-0000+p3701-0004-nv.dtb

uart3 is debug interface I just want to make sure it.

But we use uart2 in soc as RS485, it can not work.

the link is useful, thank you very much.

Okay, it seems you are using AGX Orin SKU4.

For RS485, you may need to invert the behavior of RTS as it has different state used by RS-485.
Please refer to Need to Invert UART2 RTS - #11 by KevinFFF for the similar use case.

sudo busybox devmem 0x03110020 value :0xFFFFFFFF

After set:sudo busybox devmem 0x03110020 w 0x8, the result also is : 0xFFFFFFFF

and rs485 can not work.

It seems this register can not be accessed with current Tegra High Speed UART driver.

Could you share the full dmesg and device tree for further check?

Following is dmesg.log, and device tree use defalut parameter without any change.

dmesg.log (67.3 KB)

kernel_tegra234-p3737-0000+p3701-0004-nv.dtb.txt (247.4 KB)

We find pseudo soldering problem, rs485 is working.

Thank you very much.

Okay, thanks for your update.
