XID 13 error

I have Kubuntu 24.04 and an Nvidia GeForce 3080 12 GB card. I have driver version 580.95.05 I am getting this error with Total War Warhammer 3:

The game crashes immediately upon load. Please advise on how to fix this. Thank you.

This is a very endemic bug right now, there are two megathreads tracking this that you might want to take a look:

There isn’t really much of a fix user-side for these right now I think, other than enduring the pain and constantly restarting the game when it freezes with this. I’ve noticed that for some games the bug is more frequent in specific areas, so if that’s also the case for you you might also want to avoid those areas. I really hope they manage to fix this once and for all someday.
